Tanvir Hasan, KSA Correspondent (English Ver.)- Registration in the Citizen’s Fund will be started on Wednesday (Feb. 1) through the electronic gate which has been especially established for the program.
The fund has been established by the government to help low and medium income Saudis face the rising cost of living especially after the abolishing of subsidies from a number of vital commodities including electricity and water.
Every Saudi citizen with a monthly income of is less than SR21,000 will have the right to receive assistance from the fund.
According to officials in charge of the newly-established fund, the citizens will not have to present any document at this stage.
They said this was meant to give the citizens enough time to prepare the required papers and documents when they are requested at a later stage.
The fund said on its Twitter account that Saudi mothers with custody over their children could also register.
The officials said registration is done once but the data could be updated regularly whenever there is any change in the information.
They also said the family provider could also add his wife and children at the time of registration.
The officials said Saudi students studying on scholarship abroad will not be covered by the fund’s assistance but can register once they return home.
The Saudis currently staying abroad are also exempted from the assistance but can register in the fund once they are back home.
The officials said the citizens with commercial licenses who practice trade can also register in the fund depending on their monthly income
