Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami alliance to stop bomb attacks across the country in the name of movement or face wrath of common people.
“I am asking BNP-Jamaat combine to refrain themselves from subversive activities in the name of movement otherwise you (BNP-Jamaat leaders) will face the wrath of common people,” she said.
The premier came up with the threat while inaugurating the much-awaited month-long book fair ‘Amar Ekushey Granthamela-2015’ along with International Literary Conference on the Bangla Academy premises in the capital city on Sunday afternoon.
Addressing the occasion, the premier stressed the need for maintaining congenial atmosphere in the country during the event.
Pointing to BNP chief Khaleda Zia, Hasina said, “She has made a big mistake by not participating in the January 5 elections (in 2014) and now she is inciting anarchy from the refuge of her Gulshan office.”
“I want to tell the BNP chief clearly…It was your mistake and your party will have to suffer. The people of the country will not suffer (for your mistake).
Hasina said arson and explosion, wounding and killing civilians, cannot be the way of any movement but activities of militants and terrorists. She hoped such activities will no longer continue in the country.
Blaming the fates of country’s people, she said when a new door of potential development is opened before the country and its people, terrorist activities tend to begin throughout the country.
“But we don’t want to hear the scream and smell the burns of arson, crude bomb victims anymore; hence we need to retaliate such violence,” she said, while mentioning the ongoing situation of arson victims in different incidents.
