Police recovered a body of a college student from Dhanmondi Lake in the capital earlt Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sudipto Dutto, 18 and an HSC student of Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College in capital, hailing from Baikuntha village under Lohagara upazila of Narail District.
Police recovered the floating body from the lake around 8:30am today.
Sudipto’s father Asim Kumar Dutto said his son was watching Asia Cup Cricket between Bangladesh and Pakistan team on Sunday. In this time, he was scolded by his mother. On anger, he left house.
Later police recovered the body from the lake early today and sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy, said Moshiul Alam, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi police station.
