Bappi Lahiri, a famous Indian singer and music composer, on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganobhaban residence here this evening.
During the meeting, the Premier put emphasis on projecting the country’s real history as well as motivating the people on different issues through music, not only speech, BSS reports quoting PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
In this connection, she said Bangladesh Awami League has arranged a concert on the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman tomorrow to project different aspects of the fiery speech of the great leader before the new generation.
Bappi Lahiri told the Prime Minister that he had started his career in 1971 with a song and composition on Bangabandhu.
The popular Indian musician also said he would participate in concert on Bangabandhu in Bangladesh in future.
Later, Bappi Lahiri presented to the Premier a music VCD titled “The Slum Stars of India” composed by the singer-turned-music director.
Sheikh Helaluddin, MP, was present, among others.
