Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Sunday categorically said that BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia would surely join the next general election to be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2019.
“But the fact remains that there would be none to vote for her as the people know it for granted that voting for BNP means allowing again “Hawa Bhaban” conspiracy,” he said while taking part in the general discussion on President’s speech, delivered in the House on January 20 during the first sitting of this session.
Nasim said Awami League would, Insh Allah, again come to power in 2019 as this party had done a remarkable progress in all areas including the Health sector. “Political stability is a must for development, “he said while referring to the instability created by the unconstitutional government after killing Bangabandhu, four national leaders and many others.
Pointing his finger at the 1/11 changeover, Nasim said a group of journalists all on a sudden emerged proudly with their tall talks during that undesired period and got involved in various conspiracies to minus Sheikh Hasina from politics, BSS reports.
He said the 1/11 players sent Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to jail while BNP chief Begum Zia was ready to go exile in Dubai. Sheikh Hasina boldly denied not to go abroad as she said she would do politics for the common people of the country.
“Today we would have seen Martial Law in the country, had there not been any election under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Boat is the symbol of democracy and peace in Bangladesh,” Nasim informed the House.
He said democracy plays its respective roles for the people of USA, UK, European Union and India respectively. But, he added, our democracy is the asset of our people and we do never need any prescription in this regard.
