After a sensitive and nuanced portrayal of a village belle in Parapaar, Paoli is ready to break new ground with her next project.
The dusky beauty has just signed Take Care, which addresses the issue of breast cancer.
Though the subject is quite serious, the actress is upbeat about the film to be directed by Jayasree Bhattacharya.
“I gave my nod straightaway after hearing the script. I feel that the subject is very important. I play a model and the story explores how she deals with the physical, psychological and mental challenges after being detected with breast cancer. The disease is a silent killer and the film tries to make us realize that women should be aware of their own bodies. Rajesh Sharma plays Dr Pillai, an important character in the film.”
The film has three-four different looks, which are being planned by Aniruddha Chakladar, who will do the look test on December 15. “We are still working on the character`s look after she undergoes chemotherapy,” added Paoli.
That apart, Paoli has also signed up for Atanu Bose`s Black Coffee. “The story depicts the relationship between a director and an actress. Saswata Chatterjee is playing the male lead. The film shows how my character becomes creatively dependent on the director, who is also married. Theirs is an undefined relationship — is it love or plain dependence? I just loved the script since it has many emotional layers,” informed Paoli.
“In real life, has Paoli ever shared a special relationship with any of the directors she worked with? “Never ever! Work is worship!” she quipped.
