Six people including two of a family were killed and five seriously injured when a truck rammed a human hauler and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Habiganj Sadar upazila this morning.
Four of the deceased were identified as Yusuf Ali, 50, of Srimongol upazila and Ahmedul Haque, 60, of Sadar upazila in Moulvibazar and Nabarun Bibi, 45, of Baniachang upazila of Habiganj and her daughter Ambia, 20.
All the deceased were passengers of the three-wheeler, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
SM Nazimuddin, officer-in-charge of Habiganj Sadar Police Station, said a truck hit a human hauler, locally known as tempo, and an auto-rickshaw at a time in Sutang area around 7:30am.
