An official operation to pull out the tanker in the Sunderbans was yet to begin in the third day of the oil spillage after the vessel sank in the largest mangrove forest.
Two rescue vessels, from Chittagong Port Authority and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), were expected to arrive to carry out salvage operation.
Today morning, Mongla port authority’s Harbour Master Commander KM Akhteruzzaman said the vessels were yet to reach and carry out rescue operation.
