Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, Chief Election Commissioner, on Tuesday said that the elections of two Dhaka City Corporations would not be possible to hold by January 2015.
He came up with the assertion while addressing a press conference at Election Commission (EC) media center in the city.
In reply of a question he said, “How can we hold the election in January? I need time to fix boundary, print voter list and announce its schedule.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday suggested the authorities concerned to announce the election schedule of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) by January 2015.
