Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina today has inaugurated 10 economic zones around the country through a video conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Dhaka.
During the inauguration ceremony, the PM said that the government plans on building 100 more such economic zones around the country.
Under the agreement, PowerPac, a unit of Sikder Group, will develop the 205-acre Mongla Economic Zone and operate it for 50 years to attract foreign and domestic investors.
The economic zones are—Mirersarai Economic Zone, Sabrang Tourism Park, Srihatta Economic Zone, Mongla Economic Zone, AK Khan Economic Zone, Abdul Monem Economic Zone, Meghna Economic Zone, Meghna Industrial Economic Zone, Bay Economic Zone and Amra Economic Zone.
